DIY Playroom Creative Corner: Wall Decals

DIY Playroom Create Corner

Our son is 21 months old naturally LOVES to play. In our new home we have a living room and a room I like to call The Social Room. We just recently moved our playroom area from our living room to our social room. I absolutely loath change. Although I loved having the play area it in the living room, nothing fit. The toy ottoman was on the fireplace, his kitchen was sticking out from the wall, and his kids table in the middle of the room. I was continually trying to rearrange everything to fit when my sister said, "You should move The Playroom into The Social Room". Light bulb. There is a whole empty wall. Ready and willing for all his toys and more. I hated moving the toy room over, but all of a sudden it was a saw blank canvas. Another room I decorate and really make his own. We are a creative duo. So I started in his creative corner by making colorful dots. Here is the BEFORE.

Here's how I did it: Approx Time: 5 Minute Design. 15 Minute Cutting (varies on amount of colors) 5 Minute Apply TOTAL TIME: 25 Minutes Things you need: Vinyl Cutter - I prefer Silhouette Vinyl Cutter Sticky Mat Vinyl - colors of your choice. Semi Permanent (for easy removal) Weeder/Picker **If you do not know what these are, I plan on making a Silhouette Vinyl Cutter 101 Vlog. Coming soon!! If you have any further questions, please feel free to shoot me a message.

Step One: Design the dots. Figure out how large the dots you wish to be. I made ours 4" in diameter. Step Two: Apply each color vinyl to the sticky mat, one by one. Send design to Silhouette Studio to cut your vinyl decals.

Step Three: Weed the vinyl. With such a simple circular design, I suggest just picking up the dots and avoid the weeding process. For beginners, weed the vinyl first. Step Four: Apply onto wall. Make sure to scatter them evenly. I personally went for a exploding dots pattern. BEFORE

Simple project with high impact. Let me know what you think in the comments :)
