Soup Broth | From Scratch

▪️Soup Broth|From Scratch▪️

Healthy Whole Home Made Meals is my jam - literally. Watch how I made this no sodium, no preservative whole soup broth from my left over scraps

While grocery shopping, I strive to only pick up items from the 4 outside walls of the store. Wait what? Why?..........Well those outside walls tends to be your: Produce, Meat, Fish, Diary, and Wheat. All of which are all whole foods to me. Little to non processed foods, and high sodium foods.  Don’t get me wrong, I’m not perfect and DO shop in the inner boxed food isles. I just strive every day to feed myself and my family WHOLE FOOD. But this is why I take the extra time to make my own broths, sauces, and everything in between.

Prep Time: 0 minutes Cook Time: As long as you can.  Approx 4-6 hours.  Ingredients:  - Italian Seasoning (2 TBSP) - Parsley (1 TBSP) - Garlic (5 Cloves, diced) - Salt and Pepper - Scrap Vegetables.  - Left over bones from any type of meat.

This means the skin of your onions, the tops of your celery and carrots, the unwanted leaves of cabbage EVERYTHING.  I put it in a zip lock bag and freeze and pull it out every time I'm cooking.  I do the same after cooking meat with bones, I save and freeze them as well.  Now you can go out and buy carrots, celery, onions, and various vegetables and bone for bone broth to use in your broth, but this is not the recipe for that.  Doing it this way creates such dimension to your soups.  It always tastes just a little bit different each time. I use this broth with any soups that require, vegetable, chicken OR beef broth.  Instructions: Add all ingredients into a large pot.  Add water until everything is covered in water. Cook on medium high heat (at a simmer) for 4-6 hours.  Remove from heat and strain into a bowl (for beginners, I recommend cooling off completely before straining to avoid burning yourself). Transfer into a large glass container.   Will keep for 5 days in the fridge OR you can freeze in portions. I use this broth recipe for all soups that require chicken or beef broth OR use it to season my rice with.  Bon Appetite
