Growing up we spent all of our summers at the cottage. Those BBQ nights, days spent with friends swimming in the waves, making lunches and floating out in a raft fully clothed (that ended up wet), sleeping on the trampoline, catching tad poles in the creek, or our first late night skinny dip. Most of my fondest memories are those at the cottage. As a teenager, we spent every birthday there. Party island day drinking, long dock chats with a little too much vodka, watching the stars with my first boyfriend. The list can go on and on. Its where we spend every Christmas. It is where I walked down the isle and got married. It is where we told our family that we were having our first baby boy. It is where my sister got engaged. It is where we gather to spend quality time together whether it be with family or friends. A place that will forever be in my heart as something very cherished and dear to me. A second home. Now married, we are even more blessed with a second family cottage we are fortunate to be able to make new life long memories at as well. Not only are we lucky, but our SON gets to have the same kind of up bringing (cottage style) that I did. My love for the outdoors stems from there. The feeling of the sun on our faces and nature in our hands. The curiosity that the outdoors brings. My son gets to experience it all. Create HIS life long memories at the cottage. Our grandparents and parents are the ones who created this very Canadian lifestyle for us, and now for our children which is even more special in my heart.
