Spiraled potatoes sure are a food festival specialty. Taking this fried food favorite and turning it into a healthier baked version with so much flavor was my goal. Plus you'll get all the brownie points from your kids with their oh so cool look.
Prep Time: 10 Minutes Cook Time: 45 Minutes
Total Time: 55 Minutes
Ingredients: - Potatoes (medium to large)
- Pairing Knife
- Wooden Skewers (1 per potato)
- Salt and Pepper (to taste) - Garlic Powder - Cajun Seasoning
- Olive Oil (1/4 cup)
Directions: 1. Preheat your oven to oak your wooden skewers under water. This prevents the wood from burning during the baking process. Stick the skewer through the middle of the potato.
2. Using your pairing knife, slightly angle your knife at 45 degrees at the top of the potato. Slice all the way till you hit the skewers. In spiraled circular motion, leaving 1/4" space, round the potato (see video for detailed instructions). 3. Using a large baking sheet, place potatoes on. Rub all sides and inners with olive oil generously. Then sprinkle garlic powder, Cajun seasoning, and salt and pepper. Place in oven for 45 minutes or until tender. Bon Appetite.
